SUMMARY:April Fool's Day
DESCRIPTION:Tell your best jokes and pranks. \n\n\n\nAlso known as All Fools’ Day\, and celebrated every year on April 1st\, April Fools’ Day is a holiday when people play pranks on each other and try to trick their friends and family. The origins of April Fools’ Day are unclear\, but it is believed to have originated in ancient Rome as a festival called Hilaria. The holiday has since spread around the world and is now celebrated in many countries. On April Fools’ Day\, people often play practical jokes on one another. Some media organizations also participate in the holiday by publishing fake news stories or airing humorous programs. The day is typically marked with a lighthearted spirit and is not meant to be taken seriously. \n\n\n\nHistory of April Fools’ Day\n\n\n\nIn medieval Europe\, the holiday was associated with the start of the new year\, which was traditionally celebrated on March 25th. However\, in the 16th century\, the Catholic Church changed the calendar so that the new year began on January 1st. Some people resisted this change and continued to celebrate the new year on March 25th\, and they were often mocked and ridiculed by those who had adopted the new calendar. This may have contributed to the development of April Fools’ Day as a holiday dedicated to pranks and jokes. \n\n\n\nHow to Celebrate April Fools’ Day\n\n\n\nThere are many ways to celebrate April Fools’ Day. Some common traditions include: \n\n\n\nPlaying pranks on friends and family: This might involve hiding objects and then pretending to have lost them\, pretending to have a fake injury\, or creating a fake news story to trick someone.Sending prank emails or making prank phone calls: This is a popular way to celebrate April Fools’ Day\, especially in the workplace.Media organizations participating: Some media companies will publish a fake news article or air a humorous show as part of the holiday.Throwing an April Fools’ Day party: Some people like to celebrate the holiday with a party where people can play pranks on one another and share jokes.Sharing jokes and memes: Many celebrate April Fools’ Day by sharing jokes and humorous memes on social media or through text messages.Participating in organized events: Some communities and organizations will hold events or activities specifically for April Fools’ Day\, such as comedy shows or scavenger hunts.\n\n\n\nOverall\, the way that people celebrate April Fools’ Day tends to be lighthearted and humorous\, not to be taken too seriously. \n\n\n\nWhat are some of the most famous April Fools’ pranks?\n\n\n\nThere have been several famous (or infamous) April Fools’ pranks over the years. Here are a few examples: \n\n\n\nThe BBC’s “Spaghetti Tree” hoax: In 1957\, the BBC aired a segment on its news program showing footage of Swiss farmers harvesting spaghetti from trees. The segment was presented as a serious news story\, and many people believed it was true.Google’s “Gmail Paper” service: In 2007\, Google announced that it was launching a new service called “Gmail Paper\,” which would allow users to have physical copies of their emails printed and mailed to them. The announcement was made on April 1st\, and many people initially believed it was real.Taco Bell’s “Puerto Rico” hoax: In 1996\, Taco Bell announced that it had purchased the Liberty Bell and would be renaming it the “Taco Liberty Bell.” The announcement caused a public outcry\, and Taco Bell later admitted that it was an April Fools’ Day prank. The “Left-Handed Whopper” hoax: In 1998\, Burger King introduced a “Left-Handed Whopper” specifically designed for left-handed customers. Many people fell for the prank when it was unveiled on April 1st.\n\n\n\nThese are just a few examples of the many famous April Fools’ pranks that have been played over the years. Some of the best pranks are those that are clever and unexpected\, and are able to convince people that they are true for at least a little while.

SUMMARY:National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day
DESCRIPTION:National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day celebrates the most popular sandwich in America! It doesn’t matter whether you like grape\, strawberry\, orange marmalade\, blackberry\, or any other form of jelly\, the best compliment to them is the amazing and delectable peanut butter! Peanut Butter and Jelly has become such a popular taste sensation that it can be found in hundreds of different derivations. \n\n\n\nLearn about National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day\n\n\n\nIs there any combination that is better than peanut butter and jelly? We can’t think of one! This combination has been around for many\, many years. Until the early 1900s\, it was only really sold in fancy tea rooms. However\, the commercialization of the peanut butter industry meant that peanut butter became more affordable\, and now you can find a jar of peanut butter in most homes around the world. It’s pretty crazy to think that you would have had to put your glad rags on and headed to a fancy tea room to have some peanut butter in the past\, isn’t it? \n\n\n\nLuckily\, those days are gone\, and we now celebrate the fact that we can enjoy this tasty treat whenever with National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. On this day\, you can tuck into as many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as your heart desires\, and no one can say anything about it! We will personally be having one for breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner. Why not? National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day is also a good opportunity for you to learn more about this creation\, as well as some other innovative recipes that call for both peanut butter and jelly. \n\n\n\nHistory of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day\n\n\n\nPeanut Butter was first invented by the Aztecs\, who ground roasted peanuts into a rich nutritious paste. Peanut paste has been used all over the world in many different derivations ever since\, being an absolute foundation of many cuisines. One thing that made this protein and calorie dense food popular is it’s resistance to going off\, and the ease with which it could be transported. Combine that with an amazing taste and texture\, and it’s no wonder that peanut butter is a world favorite! \n\n\n\nIt comes in so many different varieties too! Chunky\, smooth\, natural\, salted\, unsalted\, even premixed with jelly! Peanut Butter really is an amazing food\, and has been used to feed those who haven’t been able to eat ‘solid food’ for one reason or another. It’s been used for a myriad of snacks\, including ants on a log (Celery filled with peanut butter topped with raisins)\, peanut butter cookies\, but it’s most popular derivation by far is the peanut butter and jelly sandwich! \n\n\n\nPeanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches were thought to be invented during the American Civil war\, when the men mixed their peanut ration and jelly ration to create a delicious new treat while out on the field. When the men finally returned from the war\, bedraggled and tired\, they also brought with them news of this wonderful treat that brought them comfort on the field. Peanut butter and jelly sales soared at the wars end\, all thanks to this delightful combination of sweet jelly and smooth peanut butter! \n\n\n\nJelly in this case is the North American version of the word\, referring to a special kind of clear fruit preserve that is created from sugar sweetened fruit juice into a gel-like state often utilizing nothing more than the naturally occurring pectin in the fruit. Sometimes it needs a little help\, such as is the case with grapes\, who are notoriously low in pectin. None the less\, grape is a very popular flavor when mixed with peanut butter\, second only to the luscious red strawberry! \n\n\n\nThere is a veritable rainbow of flavors of jelly available that can be used to help make this snack new every time! Grape\, strawberry\, blackberry\, boysenberry\, the possibilities are only limited by the types of fruit you can find! There are even more exotic flavors\, such as hot chile pepper\, habanero\, even wasabi\, and while these aren’t as popular in the United States\, there are those who prefer these spicy kicks to the sweetness every jelly brings! \n\n\n\nPeanut Butter and Jelly aren’t just found in sandwiches either! There’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice cream for those who prefer a cold mix of this treat\, it can be found in a special brand of spread called “Goobers” where the Peanut Butter and Jelly come pre-mixed! There are Peanut Butter and Jelly cookies\, cakes\, even the famous breakfast tart company Pop-tarts has come up with a variety of peanut-butter and jelly sandwich Pop-Tarts. No matter what your particular taste\, you’re bound to find a variety of this delicious mix to suit your palette. \n\n\n\nHow to celebrate National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day\n\n\n\nThere are a number of different ways that you can celebrate National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Of course\, the most obvious way to celebrate this day is to make sure that you have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If you take a packed lunch to work or school\, you know what the filling needs to be on this day! You can also have fun experimenting with different types of peanut butter and jelly. There are so many flavors out there for you to choose from\, as well as different textures of peanut butter. You are bound to find a number of combinations that you have not experienced before\, and so National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day gives you the perfect opportunity to explore this classic combination further. \n\n\n\nYou could even make a big occasion of it and throw a sampler party. All you need is a range of different peanut kinds of butter and jellies so that people can try out different options. This is an affordable way to host a party but it is a lot of fun because it is different from the norm. You may also want to get creative and make some baked goods that have been inspired by peanut butter and jelly\, as well as ensuring there are some delicious drinks for everyone to enjoy. Or\, if you really want to impress\, why not try your hand at making your very own peanut butter or jelly? You will find plenty of different recipes online to follow\, so you are bound to find something that appeals to your tastebuds. Plus\, this is a great way to earn a few brownie points while throwing your event!

SUMMARY:National Walking Day
DESCRIPTION:Embrace the simplicity\, ease and accessibility of walking for exercise by participating in National Walking Day! \n\n\n\nHistory of National Walking Day\n\n\n\nWalking is an important part of better health and well-being\, not only for heart health and physical health\, but mental and emotional health as well. National Walking Day got its start in 2007 as a simple way for people to get just a little bit healthier. \n\n\n\nThe American Heart Association established the day to encourage people to get off the couch\, get out there and participate in some easy and accessible physical activity. \n\n\n\nSituated in early April\, National Walking Day comes after the long\, cold winter when many people have found themselves to be less active. But as the spring weather comes and the days get longer\, the first Wednesday in April is the perfect time to pick up a new habit of regular walking – or to be encouraged to restart an old one. \n\n\n\nHow to Celebrate National Walking Day\n\n\n\nEnjoy National Walking Day in a wide variety of ways! Get started celebrating with some of these delightful ideas: \n\n\n\nGo for a Walk\n\n\n\nObviously\, the most important order of business for National Walking Day is to simply get out there and take a walk. For a person who takes a daily five mile walk\, perhaps this means adding a half mile or just walking to work in celebration of the day. It might even be fun to get that pedometer app on your smartphone working. \n\n\n\nBut for a person who is typically sedentary\, this could mean parking the car at the back of the parking lot at work and walking up to the door\, or walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. While the goal from the American Heart Association would be to walk 30 minutes a day\, any little walking that can be done is an improvement and a help! \n\n\n\nGet Some New Walking Shoes\n\n\n\nOne of the big barriers between people and healthy walking habits can be their shoes. Celebrate National Walking Day in style by heading over to the shoe store to get a new pair of shoes that are particularly supportive for walking. Try a walking shoe from brands like Brooks\, Reebok\, Merrell and many others. \n\n\n\nOr\, for those who have a good pair of shoes that are perhaps a bit older and don’t yet need to be replaced\, get some new insoles. Go to the pharmacy or drugstore (or even the podiatrist) and pick out a pair of supportive insoles for those walking shoes to give the support and comfort you need and want. \n\n\n\nFind a Walking Buddy\n\n\n\nMany habits are much more effective when they factor in the accountability of a friend or family member. Finding a walking buddy for National Walking Day and beyond can significantly increase the chances that a person will stick with their new habit of walking. Invite a friend to walk daily\, several times a week\, or even once a week. Then see where this new habit leads.

SUMMARY:National Vitamin C Day
DESCRIPTION:Vitamin C. We all hear about it\, how good it is for us\, how it will help us fight off that cold. But how much do we really know about this mystery substance\, and just how much can it do to help our bodies? Take advantage of Vitamin C day to learn something new and boost your health\, to boot! \n\n\n\nLearn about National Vitamin C Day\n\n\n\nNational Vitamin C Day has been created so that we can appreciate and learn all about the different ways that vitamin C can benefit our health. Vitamin C is also referred to as ascorbate and ascorbic acid. It is found in a number of different foods\, as well as being sold as a dietary supplement. It is an essential nutrient in terms of producing a number of neurotransmitters and repairing tissues. It was discovered back in 1912. Sixteen years later\, it was isolated. Then\, in 1933\, it became the first vitamin to be produced chemically. \n\n\n\nVitamin C is widely recognized for helping to keep colds at bay. However\, there are plenty of other benefits that are associated with this powerful vitamin! You could reduce your blood pressure by upping your vitamin C uptake\, for example. Vitamin C is also beneficial in terms of helping to keep your skin healthy. This is because it protects it from the oxidative damage that is caused as a result of exposure on a daily basis to pollution\, heat\, and light. This has seen the population of vitamin C products increase considerably. \n\n\n\nThere are plenty of natural ways to add some more vitamin C to your diet. You don’t need to opt for vitamin C supplements\, although many people do. Some of the fruits that have the highest sources of vitamin C include cantaloupe melon\, citrus juices and fruits\, kiwi fruit\, pineapple\, papaya\, mango\, and the various berries\, such as cranberries\, blueberries\, raspberries\, and strawberries. There are a number of vegetables that are rich in vitamin C as well\, including cauliflower and broccoli. \n\n\n\nThe History of National Vitamin C Day\n\n\n\nAs a substance occurring naturally in countless different fruits and vegetables\, vitamin C has likely been around as long as the earth itself. Peoples from all over the world have long been aware of the extensive health benefits of consuming foods high in vitamin C as well as the risks associated with not consuming enough of it\, one of which is scurvy. It was not until the late 19th century that scurvy was described in detail by British physician Sir Thomas Barlow\, that people began to understand just how much this substance can do for our health. \n\n\n\nHowever\, scurvy was known for thousands of years prior\, with even the great Hippocrates himself writing about it. In the 18th century\, it is assumed that the disease killed more British sailors than any enemies they had and was one of the greatest factors limiting maritime travel over the ages. Today\, very few people suffer from scurvy and Vitamin C is considered on of the most important nutrients food can and should provide. \n\n\n\nHow to celebrate National Vitamin C Day\n\n\n\nThe best way to celebrate National Vitamin C Day is to stay healthy\, and this very vitamin can help you with that! Vitamin C is necessary for good health and general well-being\, but the unfortunate truth is that not everyone has the time to pay close attention to what they eat and just how many grams or milligrams of a certain substance they consume daily. \n\n\n\nThe drastic rise in popularity of microwavable dishes has caused people’s diets to become much less healthy over the recent years\, as has the fact that many people are working longer hours than ever and don’t have the time or the energy to cook themselves and their families a well-balanced meal every day. \n\n\n\nLuckily\, there are a few ways to make sure you’re getting enough Vitamin C\, no matter your lifestyle. One is to simply squeeze lemon juice into the water you drink. Half a lemon contains almost 100% of your daily vitamin C requirement\, so just a squeeze here and there will be more than enough! \n\n\n\nThe same goes for—alcoholic drinks. If you’re going to have a few Mojitos this Friday anyway\, why not use fresh lime juice? And have we mentioned Vitamin C helps prevent hangovers as well? \n\n\n\nBut it doesn’t stop there—as it tuns out\, you can put lemon juice into pretty much everything for your daily dose of Vitamin C as well as a deliciously tangy zing. As opposed to some other “healthy” foods which\, let’s face it\, can be downright nasty (looking at you\, kale!)\, lemon juice makes almost everything you put it on and in taste better. \n\n\n\nSalad dressings. Grilled meats. The list goes on. And if for whatever reason you’re not a fan of lemons\, don’t worry! Many fruits and vegetables contain enough Vitamin C to keep you healthy\, including tomatoes\, strawberries\, spinach\, peppers\, and many more. Take advantage of National Vitamin C Day to do your body a favor! \n\n\n\nVitamin C cannot only be consumed\, but it can be applied to your skin as well. As mentioned earlier\, Vitamin C is great for skin health. Why not make your own Vitamin C serum? It is not as difficult as you may think! All you need is some aloe vera gel\, filtered water\, and vitamin C powder. You may decide to add some other vitamins as well\, such as vitamin E oil. There are some variations of how to make vitamin C serums and facemasks online\, but the ingredient list is a simple one\, yet the benefits are vast! \n\n\n\nOf course\, you can also buy some vitamin C skin products\, rather than making your own. If you are going to use a vitamin C serum\, whether homemade or not\, we recommend washing your face first and using a toner. You can then apply a small amount of the serum. The serum is probably going to be quite thick. Do this before you go to bed\, and add another layer of moisturizer. In the morning\, you should wash your face thoroughly before any makeup is applied. Because of sun exposure\, vitamin C serum is not designed to be used on a daily basis. \n\n\n\nMake sure you spread the word about National Vitamin C Day and the benefits associated with this nutrient so that you can help others experience the benefits of it!

SUMMARY:National Caramel Day - Share Your Favorite Recipes
DESCRIPTION:National Caramel Day is a special event dedicated to the rich\, gooey\, tasty substance that is made using the deliciously dark alchemy of the culinary arts. It is known as Caramel\, which is in fact born out of the rather exacting process of caramelization. \n\n\n\nNow it’s time to learn about and celebrate National Caramel Day! \n\n\n\nHistory of National Caramel Day\n\n\n\nSome say that the history of caramel goes back more than a thousand years back to the year 1000 A.D. when the sweet treat was discovered. The name at the time was rather literal\, calling it the “kurat al milh”\, which means “sweet ball of salt”. \n\n\n\nThis original version would have been the crunchy type of caramel that was made by crystallizing sugar in boiling water\, which is something more like what is known as crunchy toffee today. \n\n\n\nCaramel and other treats were enjoyed in the mid-1600s in the Americas\, where people were known to have been making hard candies in kettles. Later\, caramel developed into a candy that was made not only with sugar\, but also included cream or milk\, making it a much softer and chewy treat. \n\n\n\nBy 1886\, Lancaster Caramel Company was started by none other than Milton S. Hershey\, who would eventually go on to start the Hershey Company\, which is one of the most famous American chocolate and candy companies today. \n\n\n\nLearning about the history of caramel might also be useful if it involves a bit of understanding about the way that caramel is made. The process for making caramel is deceptively simple\, you need merely increase the heat of sugar to a mere 170 °C (340 °F)\, at which point the sugar breaks down and turns into this much delectable substance with its rich golden color and iconic flavor. \n\n\n\nThis part is just the start of this process\, the beginning of a trek to that which most people think of as ‘Caramel’\, that coater of apples and binder of popcorn. Caramel can be used in so many different delightful and delicious treats! \n\n\n\nTo truly make the type of caramel that most people dearly love\, there are a couple of approaches. One is to caramelize the sugar and then add the cream\, butter\, and vanilla that brings out the flavors that everyone dearly loves. The other process involves adding them all together and then cooking the mixture until the milk caramelizes but not the sugar. This sort of caramel is known as ‘milk caramel’. \n\n\n\nNow it’s time to consider how to enjoy and celebrate National Caramel Day!

Think of the gentle rustling of leaves or the whisper of a voice – these are the kinds of stimuli that can lead to ASMR bliss. \n\n\n\nSo\, why do we celebrate ASMR Day? It’s not just about enjoying those tingling sensations; there’s more to it. This day highlights the therapeutic potential of ASMR. \n\n\n\nFor some\, it’s a gateway to relaxation\, a means to alleviate stress\, or even a helpful tool to drift off into a peaceful sleep. \n\n\n\nIt’s a day for ASMR enthusiasts to share their favorite experiences\, for creators to showcase their innovative works\, and for newbies to dip their toes into this mesmerizing world. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a long-time fan or just curious about what all the fuss is about\, International ASMR Day is the perfect time to explore this fascinating sensory journey. \n\n\n\nHistory of International ASMR Day\n\n\n\nInternational ASMR Day\, celebrated on April 9th\, has a pretty interesting history. Think of it as a journey that started in the cozy corners of the internet and blossomed into a global phenomenon. It all began back in 2007 on a forum called SteadyHealth. \n\n\n\nHere\, people first started chatting about this unique\, tingly feeling they got from certain sounds and visuals. They didn’t know it yet\, but they were talking about ASMR! \n\n\n\nFast forward to 2010\, and a bright spark named Jennifer Allen coined the term ASMR\, which stands for autonomous sensory meridian response. This name stuck and started turning heads. By 2012\, the ASMR community was buzzing with creators and enthusiasts. \n\n\n\nThat’s when ASMR artists KellyMsAutumnRed and Ilse Blansert\, known as the Waterwhisperers\, had a lightbulb moment. They decided to set a day aside to celebrate this awesome sensation. April 9th was chosen\, and so International ASMR Day was born. \n\n\n\nSince then\, every April 9th\, people around the world have joined in to celebrate ASMR. They share videos\, try out new sounds\, and spread the word about how ASMR can help relax and even improve sleep. \n\n\n\nIt’s not just for the fans\, though. Newbies are always welcome to explore and find out if they get the tingles. \n\n\n\nFrom its humble beginnings on an internet forum to a day celebrated worldwide\, International ASMR Day shows how a simple idea can grow into something much bigger. \n\n\n\nHow to Celebrate International ASMR Day\n\n\n\nCelebrating International ASMR Day can be a blast! Here are some quirky and fun ways to join in: \n\n\n\nDiscover Your Trigger: Not everyone knows what gives them the ASMR tingles. Spend the day exploring different ASMR videos. Whispering\, tapping\, or even watching paint mixing could be your thing! \n\n\n\nDIY ASMR Challenge: Grab a mic and try creating your own ASMR content. It could be as simple as rustling paper or as creative as narrating a story. Share it online and see who else gets the tingles! \n\n\n\nASMR Movie Night: Host a movie night with friends\, but with a twist. Choose films known for their soothing soundtracks or scenes that might trigger ASMR. Don’t forget the popcorn – the sound is part of the fun! \n\n\n\nNature’s ASMR: Take a walk in a park or forest and listen. Nature’s full of ASMR triggers\, from rustling leaves to babbling brooks. It’s a great way to relax and connect with the environment. \n\n\n\nASMR Cuisine: Have fun in the kitchen by preparing a meal with ASMR-inducing sounds. Think sizzling\, chopping\, and bubbling. Enjoy the cooking process as much as the eating! \n\n\n\nASMR Art Session: Get artsy with materials that make intriguing sounds. Sketching\, painting\, or even sculpting can be an ASMR experience. Plus\, you get a masterpiece at the end! \n\n\n\nASMR Yoga or Meditation: Combine ASMR sounds with yoga or meditation. Whispers\, gentle music\, or nature sounds can enhance relaxation and mindfulness. \n\n\n\nShare the Love: Know someone who could use some relaxation? Introduce them to ASMR. Sharing your favorite videos or artists can be a great way to spread the joy. \n\n\n\nThese ideas are just the beginning. The most important thing is to have fun and find a new way to chill out!

SUMMARY:Anger - A Secondary Emotion - How to Cope?
DESCRIPTION:The Anger Iceberg represents the idea that\, although anger is displayed outwardly\, other emotions may be hidden beneath the surface. These other feelings—such as sadness\, fear\, or guilt—might cause a person to feel vulnerable\, or they may not have the skills to manage them effectively. \n\n\n\nBy exploring what’s beneath the surface\, clients can gain insight into their anger\, such as other possible treatment avenues. For example\, a client who realizes their anger is fueled by jealousy may benefit from communication skills\, whereas a client who realizes their anger is caused by stress will benefit from developing self-care habits. \n\n\n\nThe Anger Iceberg worksheet can be used in multiple ways. It works well as a group discussion piece\, or as an activity where clients identify and circle their own hidden emotions. Try the following discussion questions to get started: \n\n\n\n\nImagine a friend is facing a situation that’s similar to one of your own anger triggers. What emotions do you think they might feel\, other than anger?\n\n\n\n\n\nIn your family\, or in the culture you grew up in\, what emotions do people freely express? What emotions do they keep to themselves?\n\n\n\nImagine a person who handles difficult emotions—such as sadness\, fear\, or hurt— effectively. How do they show these emotions? What do they do to cope with them?\n\n\n\nAnger is sometimes used mask emotions that make a person feel vulnerable\, such as hurt or shame. Can you think of a time you expressed anger in order to conceal another emotion you were feeling?\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.therapistaid.com/therapy-worksheet/anger-iceberg

SUMMARY:World Art Day
DESCRIPTION:Engage in art to express yourself. \n\n\n\nExpressing emotions through colors and shapes\, art captures the essence of life\, sparking emotions and fostering connection without words. \n\n\n\nArt has the power to not only bring beauty and light into a world that can often be dark\, but it also can make a difference by giving a voice to political movements and social change. World Art Day is here to show appreciation for and celebrate those who have made art contributions to the world\, as well as the everyday artist that can be alive in all humans!  \n\n\n\nHistory of World Art Day\n\n\n\nThe background of World Art Day can be traced back to its founding organization\, the International Association of Art (IAA)\, which began in 1954. The IAA got its start as a partnership agency through the United Nations Educational\, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the purpose of learning about artistic freedoms as well as associating artists together with UNESCO’s work. \n\n\n\nThe first World Art Day was celebrated in 2012 when it was started by the IAA with the idea of promoting awareness about creative activity all over the globe. The idea for the day was approved by more than 150 artists as well as all of the national committees of the IAA organization. And because of this connection\, World Art Day continues to be supported and promoted by UNESCO. \n\n\n\nWorld Art Day seeks to raise awareness about and honor the contributions that various artists have made throughout the world\, while promoting the importance of art in the lives of each and every human. In addition\, the organizers of the day hope that it will pique interest about the importance of art\, encouraging art education as a path toward inclusive and equitable education. \n\n\n\nThe planet is filled with amazing humans who have created and will continue to create all sorts of incredible works of art. World Art Day is here to showcase that art\, show appreciation for it\, and encourage others to get involved with creating it!

SUMMARY:National Librarian Day
DESCRIPTION:Locate your local library\, learn about the resource. Plan a trip to visit your library. Take time to thank your local librarians with a thank you or a homemade card. \n\n\n\nNational Librarian Day on April 16 is a chance to be thankful for all the knowledge that librarians possess. You may think of them as book-slingers who spend all day cataloging and reshelving\, but librarians play a much more important role. From children’s storytime to literacy classes\, libraries offer a wealth of free public resources. \n\n\n\nTrained in Library Science\, professional librarians work with complex cataloging systems to organize books\, make purchasing decisions for their library\, liaise with local schools and universities\, organize events and programming\, teach classes\, and more. Their role is constantly evolving to adapt to new technology and social needs. Celebrate National Librarian Day with us and say thanks to the awesome librarians that are always on hand to help. \n\n\n\nNATIONAL LIBRARIAN DAY ACTIVITIES\n\n\n\n1.   Visit your local library\n\n\n\nWhen’s the last time you went to the library? SUMMARY:National Banana Day
DESCRIPTION:April 17 National Banana Day \n\n\n\nOrange you glad I didn’t say banana? Enjoy some banana based treat like banana bread\, a banana split\, or even banana punch\, and tell some terrible jokes. \n\n\n\nNational Banana Day is a bit like a heady mix of April Fool’s Day and Halloween (of course\, without the trick or treating and vandalism) and with a helpful portion of healthy eating thrown in for good measure! \n\n\n\nSo\, get ready to Go Bananas on National Banana Day! \n\n\n\nHistory of National Banana Day\n\n\n\nNational Banana Day is a yearly event that is aimed at celebrating bananas in every conceivable sense of the word–because the banana is certainly a fruit worth celebrating! \n\n\n\nWhile bananas are believed to have originated in Southeast Asia\, mainly in India. They made their way west by Arab conquerors in 327 BC\, and eventually bananas ended up in Europe. By the 1870s\, bananas made their way to the Caribbean with missionaries\, where the bananas were originally used for micro crops (which means growing one crop that helps another crop to grow). Eventually\, though\, bananas became a lucrative crop in their own right. \n\n\n\nThe popularity of bananas in the West grew throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. As they became more affordable and less exotic\, bananas were added to special dishes like the banana split\, or used in baking recipes like banana bread. \n\n\n\nRegarding the origins of National Banana Day\, it is known that every year students at many prestigious American universities use National Banana Day as a way of celebrating this humble fruit as a lunchbox standard. On this day\, they eat and share weird and wonderful banana concoctions (banana punch\, anyone?)\, they dress as bananas and they generally go a bit…well…nuts. \n\n\n\nAnd bananas too\, of course. \n\n\n\nNational Banana Day is the perfect day to find solace in this world-renowned fruit that is useful and beneficial on so many levels. Happy National Banana Day! \n\n\n\nHow to Celebrate National Banana Day\n\n\n\nCelebrating National Banana Day seems like a great time to get creative and enjoy a big load of fun! After all\, there aren’t many days in the year when it is allowed to legitimately goof off and also have a little fruit-based fun\, so why not take a (banana) leaf out of the students’ book and go a little bit bananas today? \n\n\n\nConsider these ideas for celebrating National Banana Day: \n\n\n\nMake a Banana Treat\n\n\n\nGet creative in the kitchen and enjoy what monkeys have known all along–the banana is a fabulous food! Try these delicious treats to eat alone or share with friends: \n\n\n\nBanana Split. A classic American tradition\, the banana split uses the two halves of a sliced banana\, some scoops of ice cream (usually one of each vanilla\, chocolate and strawberry)\, and toppings such as hot fudge\, whipped cream\, nuts and cherries. \n\n\n\nBanana Bread. Although the same recipe will bake more quickly when poured into muffin tins\, there is something special about a dense loaf of warm banana bread. No matter what shape they are in\, this is a great way to use up bananas that have gotten a bit over-ripe or brown\, because over ripe bananas are sweeter. \n\n\n\nBananas Flambe. This French Caribbean treat is made from peeled banana halves fried in oil and then coated with rum and sugar. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream\, of course\, it makes a delightful and dramatic show of a simple food! \n\n\n\nChocolate Covered Bananas. Channel that inner Arrested Development character (Bluth family\, anyone?) by freezing some bananas and dipping them into chocolate–add nuts too!

SUMMARY:National Clean Out Your Medication Cabinet Day
DESCRIPTION:Medication adherence and safety is important for our well-being. \n\n\n\nTidying up the medicine stash ensures safety\, preventing mishaps and creating a healthier environment at home. \n\n\n\nA Friday in late April is a great time to fly a kite\, smell some spring flowers\, play a game of tennis or do some gardening. And it’s also an amazing time to rid that medicine cabinet of any expired prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs. Keep the family safe and take part in National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day! \n\n\n\nHistory of National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day\n\n\n\nAccording to research by Partnership at Drugfree.com\, approximately 4 in 10 teens who have misused or abused prescription drugs say that they were found in the medicine cabinets of one of their parents. This could be a painkiller that was leftover from an injury\, what’s left of an antidepressant when the doctor made a change in dosage\, or some other remaining pills in a bottle. \n\n\n\nIn addition to those who may intentionally misuse medicines\, young children and older adults may be at a high risk of accidental drug misuse. For the elderly\, this is especially true when there are a large number of bottles in the medicine cabinet. \n\n\n\nNational Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day was founded in 2019 by DisposeRx with the purpose of encouraging people to get rid of the items in their cabinets that are old or expired. DisposeRx is a company that is working to help people solve the problem of medicine disposal in a safe and effective manner\, with an effort to prevent injuries and problems around this issue. \n\n\n\nHow to Celebrate National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day\n\n\n\nConsider some of these ideas for keeping the family safe and observing National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day: \n\n\n\nClean Out Your Medicine Cabinet\n\n\n\nWhether it’s been quite some time or this is a regularly scheduled task\, cleaning out the medicine cabinet is a vitally important part of taking care of yourself and your family. Taking expired medicine or risking someone else getting their hands on some leftover prescriptions can be dangerous or even deadly. Do your own household or an aging parent a favor by cleaning out and properly disposing of any expired or leftover medicines. \n\n\n\nParticipate in Drug Take Back Programs\n\n\n\nOne of the reasons people don’t get rid of old medicines is that they often aren’t quite sure how. If unsure\, it is okay to call the office of the doctor who prescribed the medicine and ask them for guidance. Many pharmacies also have a drug take-back program in place for easy return of expired medicines. And the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day organized by the DEA happens twice a year\, organized through local law enforcement officials. \n\n\n\nLearn the Proper Way to Dispose of Drugs\n\n\n\nSome medicines can also be disposed of at home. DisposeRx is a maker of at-home disposal packets that can be found at many pharmacies. The FDA also has a list of medicines that are safe for flushing down the toilet\, sink or in the household trash. Be sure to take medicines out of the bottle and mix them with something undesirable like coffee grounds or cat litter\, and then place them in a sealed bag.

SUMMARY:National Jelly Bean Day
DESCRIPTION:NATIONAL JELLY BEAN DAY\n\n\n\nWho can resist a handful of sweet jelly beans on National Jelly Bean Day? Well on April 22nd each year\, you really don’t have to resist at all. As a celebration\, enjoying them is a must!    \n\n\n\n#NationalJellyBeanDay\n\n\n\nWhile candies made in a similar manner existed before the jelly bean\, Boston confectioner William Schrafft made them popular during the Civil War. With their firm exterior\, jelly beans were the first candies sold by the pound. Schrafft encouraged his customers to send them to Union soldiers. \n\n\n\nIn the 1930s\, jelly beans became closely associated with the Easter holiday thanks to their egg-like shape. However\, confectioners make jelly beans available all year long now. So\, there’s no excuse not to enjoy them if you have a craving at any time of the year. \n\n\n\nThe 40th President of the United States\, Ronald Reagan\, enjoyed jelly beans so much that they were present at his inauguration. He started eating them when he quit smoking years before. The Herman Goelitz Candy Company supplied red\, white and blue jelly beans for the 1980 event. At the time\, the company didn’t produce blue jelly beans. They created a blueberry jelly bean for the first time\, especially for the inauguration.

SUMMARY:National Denim Day
DESCRIPTION:On Denim Day\, which takes place on the last Wednesday in April — April 24 this year — we stand in solidarity with sexual assault survivors and victims. Celebrated every year on the last Wednesday of April\, Denim Day started as a campaign against sexual assault apologists. In the summer of 1998 in Italy\, an 18-year-old girl was raped by her 45-year-old driving instructor. One year later\, the perpetrator was released after the court overturned his sentence. He appealed that the girl had had ‘consensual’ sex with him because she was wearing tight jeans that could have only been taken off with her help. The next day\, Italian women showed up in jeans to their workplaces as a way to protest the absurdity of the overturned sentence. \n\n\n\nHISTORY OF DENIM DAY\n\n\n\nDenim Day was first celebrated in 1999 when an Italian court granted the appeal of a rapist and overturned his sentence. Sparking worldwide outrage and protests\, Italian women showed up to work wearing denim jeans and other clothing articles. The Californian Senate and Assembly also supported their fellow human beings and\, in a show of respect\, American women stepped into the Parliament also sporting jeans. Patricia Giggans\, who is an American feminist and the executive director of LA’s Commission on Assaults Against Women (now known as Peace Over Violence)\, was inspired by these events and named the last Wednesday of every April as Denim Day. \n\n\n\nFor the 18-year-old girl who was raped in 1992\, it began as a normal day when she was picked up by her driving instructor. However\, things soon took a turn for the worst when he raped her. Before she was dropped off at home\, the rapist threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Later that day\, she informed her parents of the incident and soon the rapist was arrested and prosecuted. Yet\, a year later\, he appealed his case and was granted freedom after the court agreed to his claim that the victim’s tight jeans couldn’t have been taken off without her help. \n\n\n\nSexual assault is traumatizing. It is difficult to discuss and\, as a result of this\, sexual assault perpetrators often walk away scot-free. Moreover\, the survivors and victims are more often than not blamed for the incident. Such attitudes have also led to lax laws that do not help the survivors and the victims much. Denim Day\, thus\, aims to rid the world of such attitudes and laws to bring about real justice and support to the ones who deserve it. \n\n\n\nHOW TO OBSERVE DENIM DAY\n\n\n\n1.   Wear denim\n\n\n\nOne of the best ways to observe this day is by wearing denim. It doesn’t have to be jeans as you can wear denim jackets\, shirts\, hats\, etc. \n\n\n\n2.   Raise your voice\n\n\n\nRaise your voice in support of the survivors and victims. Do not stay silent for them and yourself. Show the perpetrators that you stand against them and will do anything to stop them. \n\n\n\n3.   Spread awareness\n\n\n\nSpread awareness in your circles and on social media. Call out the apologists for their twisted viewpoints. It’s the 21st century and\, while we may have progressed tremendously in the fields of science and technology\, many of us still have orthodox views on sexual assault and other societal issues. \n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.krccnet.com/services/crisis-services/the-rising-center/

SUMMARY:National Telephone Day - Phone a Friend!
DESCRIPTION:Take a moment on National Telephone Day this April 25\, to recall comedian Gary Gulman’s classic riff: \n\n\n\n“To me\, the phone is a seldom-used app on my phone.” \n\n\n\nWe have come a long way. If you ask most people who invented the phone\, they would likely respond not with “Alexander Graham Bell\,” but with “Steve Jobs.” \n\n\n\nWell\, Apple’s 2007 iPhone release did change mobile technology forever. A camera\, iPod\, computer\, and phone — all in one handheld device? Sounds quaint now\, but tell that to the folks who lined up for days trying the buy one. \n\n\n\nGary’s right. DESCRIPTION:NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY\n\n\n\nNational Pretzel Day on April 26th recognizes one of America’s favorite snacks.  A bag of nice crunchy\, salty pretzels or a big\, warm\, soft\, cinnamon pretzel is the question of the day.  Either one is an excellent choice. \n\n\n\n#NationalPretzelDay\n\n\n\nThere are a few different accounts of the origin of the pretzel.  Most people agree that it does have a Christian background\, and they were developed by the monks.  According to The History of Science and Technology\, in 610 AD\, “an Italian monk invents pretzels as a reward to children who learn their prayers.  He calls the strips of baked dough\, folded to resemble arms crossing the chest\, pretiola (little rewards).” \n\n\n\nAnother source puts the invention in a monastery in southern France. The looped pretzel may also be related to a Greek Ring bread from the communion bread used in monasteries a thousand years ago.  In the Catholic Church\, pretzels had a religious significance for both ingredients and shape. The loops in pretzels may have served a practical purpose; bakers could hang them on sticks\, projecting upwards from a central column\, as shown in Job Berckheyde’s (1681) painting. \n\n\n\nThe Pennsylvania Dutch immigrants introduced pretzels to North America in the 19th century.  At this time\, many handmade pretzel bakeries populated central Pennsylvania\, and their popularity quickly spread. In the 20th century\, soft pretzels became very popular in areas such as Philadelphia\, Chicago\, and New York.  \n\n\n\nMore Pretzel Facts\n\n\n\n\nToday\, the average Philadelphian consumes about twelve times as many pretzels as the national average.\n\n\n\nPennsylvania is the center of American pretzel production for both hard and soft pretzels\, producing 80% of the nation’s pretzels.\n\n\n\nThe annual United States pretzel industry is worth over $550 million.\n\n\n\nThe average American consumes about 1.5 pounds of pretzels per year.\n\n\n\nPhiladelphia opened a privately run “Pretzel Museum” in 1993.\n\n\n\nHard pretzels originated in the United States in 1850.\n\n\n\n\nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY\n\n\n\n\nEnjoy some pretzels.\n\n\n\nTry making your own with this soft pretzel recipe.\n\n\n\nGive a shout-out to your favorite pretzel maker.\n\n\n\n\nUse #NationalPretzelDay to post on social media.

SUMMARY:International Dance Day - Get Up and Move
DESCRIPTION:April 29 is International Dance Day\, so put your dancing shoes on and get ready to step out. Dancing is universal — woven into virtually every society all over the world. Humans simply love dance. It brings us together whether we are the ones on the dance floor or are watching the professional performance of others. Dancing is exhilarating and impressive. Let’s honor the world of dance today\, together! \n\n\n\nThe Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) established April 29 as International Dance Day in 1982 to highlight the amazing diversity and talent of dancers all over the globe. This date was chosen because it marks the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810)\, the creator of modern ballet. \n\n\n\nThe International Theatre Institute created this holiday to promote dance across the world\, to make people aware of the value of dance\, and to enable the dance community to promote their work on a broad scale. The hope is for governments and opinion leaders to become increasingly aware of the value and importance of dance in all its forms and support it. On top of all this\, International Dance Day was created for us to just enjoy dance for what it is and share the joy with others. \n\n\n\nEvery year the ITI selects an exemplary choreographer or dancer to write the official holiday message. Their website lists the location of their annual gala as well as other advertised events worldwide. \n\n\n\nEvidence of dance has been found dating back 9\,000 years and it has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. This holiday encourages people to celebrate their favorite type of dance while also learning new styles.  There are dance styles for people of all ages and rhythm capabilities; so there’s no excuse for you not to get involved.
